Birgitta Williams has worked as a classical homeopath in Göteborg and Brastad since 1995, treating both acute and chronic conditions. Since 2001 she has also been rector of ArcanumSkolan — Scandinavia’s oldest school of classical homeopathy.

Her ambition is simple and long-held: to carry classical homeopathy forward in Sweden through well-trained homeopaths, to hold the school’s programmes to a rigorous, state-quality standard, and to keep research alive within the field she teaches.

A rare double life in one craft

Most practitioners treat, or they teach. Birgitta does both — and each makes the other sharper. In the consulting room she treats patients gently and personally, with a full patient-liability insurance behind every case. In the classroom she trains the next generation of classical homeopaths, iridologists and sclerologists, using a curriculum aligned to the guidelines of the European Central Council of Homeopaths (ECCH).

She is also a certified instructor in iris diagnostics for the International Iridology Practitioners Association (IIPA), and the Swedish point of contact for Radar Opus — the professional repertory software homeopaths rely on to find the right remedy.

Trained across four countries, over three decades

Birgitta came to homeopathy through teaching. A Bachelor of Education from Karlstad University in 1985 gave her the foundation that still shapes how she trains others. From there her homeopathic education deepened steadily: a diploma from the British Institute of Homeopathy and medical basics at Uppsala’s Biomedical Centre in 1996, a three-year Nordic training, then a second three-year classical-homeopathy programme at the International School for Classical Homeopathy in Belgium in 2003, and a Master of Science in Homeopathy from the University of Central Lancashire, England, in 2011.

She has continued at the advanced edge of the field, studying twice with Jeremy Sherr on the Dynamis post-graduate course — in Stroud, England and in Sweden — and adding training in sclerology, ear acupuncture and hypnosis along the way.

Why classical homeopathy

Rightly used, classical homeopathy is a medical form of treatment entirely without side effects. It treats the whole person rather than an isolated symptom — which is why the consultation matters as much as the remedy. That belief, held over thirty years, is what Birgitta practises with patients and passes on to every student who trains with her.
